A $200 security deposit will be added to your total as “Shipping and handling.” This will be returned to you when you return your bike to us at the end of the year.

A check with your security deposit will be mailed to the “shipping address” given at check out.

General Information

There is a $200 security deposit (which is shown as a shipping fee for online transactions) on each bike rental in the rare case that it is lost or stolen during the year. We return the deposit by check when the bike is returned.

Each year on Move-In Weekend, hundreds of Wash U students come to Bears Bikes to get their year rental. A Bears Bike gives you the comfort of riding your own personal bike without the inconveniences that come with owning one. Your Bears Bikes includes a Free U-Lock and Free Summer and Winter Storage. Get a Hybrid to ride far, Mountain Bike to ride all-terrain, and a e-bike to ride in style.

With the ability to switch gears, our hybrids offer a smooth and comfortable ride. Also multi-geared, our mountain bikes have thicker tires and will get you anywhere you want to go— on or off campus. Our e-bikes are stylish, sleek, light, and simple to operate.
